Hi, I'm Lissa.
I’m a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 15 years of experience helping adults move with more freedom, confidence, and strength—whether they’re recovering from surgery, managing chronic joint pain, or simply looking to feel better in their bodies.

I founded RISE MVMT CO to fill a major gap I kept seeing in traditional rehab: people were discharged from physical therapy without feeling truly ready—still in pain, unsure what was safe, and too often left to figure it out alone.

Here, I bring together evidence-based rehabilitation, personalized movement coaching, and holistic strategies that go beyond what insurance-based clinics can offer. My goal is to support you not just through recovery, but toward lasting, empowered movement in daily life.
What Makes My Approach Different?
My approach is rooted in holistic, personalized care that treats the whole person—not just the joint or diagnosis. I take the time to understand your history, goals, and lifestyle so we can create a movement and recovery plan that truly fits you. Education is at the heart of everything I do—I want you to understand your body and feel confident in every step we take together. I also offer flexible support beyond the traditional clinic setting, including virtual coaching and real-life guidance, so your progress continues in the places that matter most: at home, at work, and out living your life. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing arthritis, or rebuilding strength after an old injury, my goal is to help you move safely, feel better, and regain confidence in your body.
My Credentials
I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and hold a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve continued to expand my clinical expertise through certifications in dry needling, nutritional physical therapy, and yoga instruction. I’ve also received advanced training in the modern management of the older adult, and I regularly serve as a clinical instructor and workshop facilitator. My diverse background allows me to blend science-based strategies with whole-person care, offering a well-rounded and deeply personalized approach to movement and rehabilitation.
A Little More About Me
When I’m not coaching clients or creating movement programs, you can find me hiking rugged trails, doing yoga, lifting weights, skiing with my kids, or paddleboarding at sunset. My family and I are spending this season traveling the country in our RV, making memories and embracing movement wherever we go.
I’m a big believer in small steps, long walks, and letting go of the “all-or-nothing” mindset. My job is to help you find what works—and feels right—for you.
My Mission
To empower adults—especially those navigating joint pain, injury recovery, or orthopedic surgery—to build strength, restore mobility, and gain confidence through safe, personalized, and holistic movement support.
